Enjoy a Full Evening of Free Music at the Kent Rocks Festival

The Numbers Band

Fri 9/13 @ 3PM-midnight

For the third year, the city of Kent is availing itself of the large number of venues that can present live music to host its Kent Rocks festival on Friday September 13.

For one evening, you’ll be able to drop in 21 different bars, club and other facilities to hear a wide variety of artists — all for free. Each one will be offering a single band or musician, so you can catch a set here and another there, Kent being easily navigable. (There’s a venue map at the Kent Rocks website.) Music starts as early as 3pm and as late as midnight, with most sets in the early evening if you’re not a late-night partier.

You can see revisit of the area’s veterans including Kent’s signature band, the Numbers Band, at the Venice Café, the Armstrong -Bearcat Blues Band at the Water Street Tavern, seasoned blues man Wallace Coleman at the Brewhouse Pub, or acoustic roots artists Jon Mosey at 101 Bottles of Beer on the Wall, or sample young singer-songwriter Josee McGee at the Battleground Taproom and Mexican Kitchen, Burning River’s hard rock at The Pub, acid rockers Feckweed from Kent and Youngstown at the Zephyr Pub or Sean Benjamin playing his original tunes with diverse influences at Last Exit Books and Café.

To plan your evening, go here for a full schedule with a little info on each band.
