Decked Out

Get yourself kitted out

We are duded up and ready to go as summer turns to fall and the arts world starts to gear up again. Artist Eileen Dorsey is collaborating with the CBG on a cool project about the health of our tree canopy, while CIM and CMNH join forces to bring live music to their new majestic Visitor Hall. It’s the last week to experience the Metroparks Zoo’s Asian Lantern Festival, and you can even ride through it on your bike! Put on your finest for the annual Drag Showcase at the Beachland, bang your head at 21 venues at the Kent Rock Festival, and get all interdisciplinary at the Transformer station. Don’t get too spiffed up for Rid-All Farm’s FreshFest (or N. Ridgeville’s Skunkfest), but feel free to primp and preen for Alla Boara at BOP or Sarah Curry’s new work at HEDGE, or Bridgerton author Julia Quinn at the Maltz PAC.

Matt Fish is fully energized as he relaunches Melt Bar and Grilled, and Thomas Mulready of CoolCleveland caught up with him on the morning of his grand re-opening, ordered one of their new veggie burgers to go (on a bun!) and picked Matt’s expansive brain about his journey and his new adventure. Former judge and CoolCleveland columnist C. Ellen Connally offers words of advice for those planning to vote: be aware of the new restrictions that are in place, have a plan to vote, and be pro-active. You may be all dressed up and ready to go, but this is not a dress rehearsal.
