CMNH and CIM Collaborate on “Museum Melodies” for Students to Perform in CMNH’s Visitor Center

The Cleveland Museum of Natural History has launched at partnership with its nearby neighbor, the Cleveland Institute of Music, called Museum Melodies. Every Thursday and Friday at noon, student musicians will perform in the Visitor Hall, giving museumgoers the chance to be soothed by some classical museum and the students the opportunity to perform for a live audience. The performances take place every week, September through November.

The one-hour concerts will feature piano recitals on the CMNH’s Steinway concert grand piano; in November, the concerts will also include ensembles of various sizes.

“Music throughout history has been a way humans have communicated with each other,” says CMNH President/CEO Sonia Winner. “How lucky we are in this region to have the opportunity to partner with CIM so that their talented students can be showcased in our beautiful new Visitor Hall, which is free and open to the public.”

And once you’ve listened to the music, buy a ticket and go to the Perkins Wildlife Center and visit the otters for a completely amazing day!
