Cirque Us Performance Features Circus Acts That Tell Stories and Build Community

Wed 9/25-Thu 9/26 @ 7PM

Boston-based Cirque Us has a brand-new show its taking on the road, called Cirque Us Stories. It features
dance trapeze, contortion acts, hula hoopers, hand-balancing clowns, jump rope, aerialists, jugglers, and most likely, quite a few more jaw-dropping feats of athleticism.

But Cirque Us isn’t just about one dazzling trick after another. They’re put together to tell stories about community and identity, using sources such as old folk tales, classic literature, children’s stories and modern fiction. This one-hour show, they say, “is being developed specifically with community in mind.” So they’ve formed partnerships with schools, libraries and community centers to make their shows accessible.

In Cleveland Wizbang Theatre, which offers classes in circus arts, is bringing them to Disciples Christian Church in Cleveland Heights for two performances.
