Chateau Hough Becomes a New Partner in Healthy Farming Project

Back in 2022, SPACES Gallery and Kent State University’s Cleveland Urban Design Collaboration launched a project called To Those who Nourish, to raise awareness of how runoff from large-scale factory farms was causing Lake Erie’s deoxygenation. It was part of 2022’s second (and final) FRONT Triennial but it was designed to outlive FRONT:  The three-year project includes regular workshops and projects with a group of northeast Ohio growers who meet to explore more environmentally friendly farming practices, such as farming without chemical fertilizers.

SPACES has just announced a new partnership, this one with urban vineyard/winery Chateau Hough, founded by CoolCleveland.com columnist, the late Mansfield Frazier. In addition to growing grapes and producing wines, Chateau Hough’s nonprofit Neighborhood Solutions Inc works to offer a pathway back into the mainstream of society for those returning from prison.
