Tue 9/10
Tuesday may be a slow day but if you’re looking ahead to hosting guests the coming weekend or just whipping up something special for yourself or your family, you may want to hit a farmer’s market after work. Luckily, there are two major markets on Tuesday evening and right now is peak harvest season.
The Coit Road Farmer’s Market on the Collinwood/East Cleveland border is the area’s oldest farmer’s market with roots in the 1920s. It’s also the only area market with its own dedicated building open year-round on Saturday mornings and in the summer from 5-8pm on Tuesdays. Expect a mix of local (some hyper-local — there’s a community farming space across the street) vendors offering produce, meat, dairy, teas, honey, dog treats, crafts, flea market finds and knife sharpening.
Across town in Tremont’s Lincoln Park, you’ll find more than 30 local farmers and merchants set up under the trees for the weekly, in-season, rain or shine, Tremont Farmer’s Market each week through October 8 from 4-7pm. Of course, there’ll be piles of freshly harvested local fruits and vegetables, bakery products, meats, crafters and artisans, fresh coffee and ice cream to consume on the spot, as well as tables from local nonprofit/social services organizations, a food truck (this week Feeed Myyy Bellly) and music by singer/songwriter/guitarist Jack Windsor. Find the full list of each week’s vendors here.
