Sun 9/15 @ 12:30

Bike Cleveland has two events going on Sunday September 15, one sad and reflective, the other social and fun.

At 9am, cyclists will gather at the Bike Box corner of West 11th and Fairfield in Tremont to roll out ay 9:30 to East 21stand Prospect for the Ride of Sylvia, honoring Sylvia Bingham, a 22-year-old AmeriCorps volunteer and social justice advocate, who was killed at that corner on Prospect while riding her bike on September 2009. There will be a brief remembrance ceremony, remarks and placing of flowers before the group will ride back to Tremont. The memorial also focuses attention on Bike Cleveland’s core mission: to create less car-centric, safer streets for cyclists and pedestrians. You can register here to let them know you’re coming.

That afternoon, you can join another group at 5411 Superior Avenue at 12:30pm to ride along the future Superior Midway to Progressive Field to enjoy a baseball game at 1:40pm.  The group will ride back to the meeting point together following the game. Bike Cleveland will take care of getting the tickets to the game.

Go here to register.
