Apollo’s Fire Plays Traditional Folk Tunes at Two Small Club Venues

Thu 9/19 @ 8PM

Sun 9/22 @ 12:30 (Doors 11:15)

This weekend, Apollo’s Fire, Cleveland’s baroque chamber orchestra, goes informal with another pair of its intimate Baroque Bistro performances, stripped-down versions of its full concerts. It’s a trip back to 1600, revisiting the traditional folk tunes of the Mediterranean lands of Spain, Italy and Northern Africa, which musicians there used as building blocks. Soprano Mira Fu-en Huang and violinists Alan Choo and Hanna Bingham are featured in the program, supported by musicians on cello and lute.

They’ll perform at BLU Jazz + in Akron on Thursday evening and at the Music Box Supper Club on Sunday at 12:30pm during the weekly brunch, which is available separately. Go here for BLU Jazz + tickets and here for Music Box tickets.
