Akron-based musician Lee Miller Matsos is a trained opera and musical theater performer who grew up listening to 20th-century pop crooners like Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr. before immersing himself in contemporary pop and rock artists such U2, Coldplay and Paul Simon.
Back in 2019 he spent some time studying at Holland College in Prince Edward Island, Canada, where he wrote the music that became his 2023 debut release, Metamorphosis Part 1, which he described as a musical interpretation of “the necessary journey through the wilderness that transforms us into something more beautiful than we were, something closer to our true selves.”
Now he’s releasing a new EP, Metamorphosis Part 2, with a show at Lekko Coffee in Ohio City. Fellow Akronites Chrissy Strong and Lauren Brabson and Cleveland’s Van Arlo will also perfor. Get tickets here.
