AAWR’s Juried Biennial Show The NewNow 2024 Opens at Tri-C East

Thu 9/12 @ 6-7:30PM

The biennial regional juried art exhibition, The NewNow 2024, presented by Artists Archives of the Western Reserve, opens this week at Tri-G’s Gallery East (4250 Richmond Road, Highland Hills).

From the deluge of works submitted, juror George Whitten, executive director of the Mansfield Art center, picked 79 pieces, in a range of media including painting, print, photography, film and video. He says, “It is the originality and unique vision of the work that truly captures my attention. I am drawn to pieces that exhibit a distinct personal touch and avoid mere gimmicks or commercial appeal. Personal reactions inevitably play a role, and for me, it is the blend of originality, skill, and an elusive quality of ‘magic’ that makes a work stand out.”

The show opens with a free, public reception on Thursday September 12, where four juror awards and a “people’s choice” award will be announced at 7pm. It will be on view through October 17. Go here for more info.
