The Cleveland Garlic Festival Brings a Distinctive Aroma to Shaker Square

Sat 8/26 @ noon-8PM

Sun 8/27 @ noon-6PM

Wondering what the smell is emanating from Shaker Square this weekend? It’s the pungent scene of garlic, the star of the annual North Union Farmers Market’s Cleveland Garlic Festival, one of the nonprofit market’s main fundraisers — and a great opportunity to get your seed garlic which goes in the ground in October.

Of course there’ll be numerous garlic farmers with a variety of garlics for both planting and cooking, but so much more. You’ll be able to purchase lots of different foods with garlic including Mitchell’s garlic ice cream which frankly we are not going to try, and plenty of non-garlic items as well, and wash them down with craft beers. You can take in the top chef grill offs and root for your favorite and meet Miss Garlic 2024. And you can enjoy live music by artists such as Blackout Rose, the JiMiller Band, Brent Kirby, Ray Flanagan and Louisiana-flavored “partygras” band MoMojo, as well as performances by the Wind and Sand Belly Dance Troupe, while the kids are entertained at the Mighty Locavores Kids Area, with its inflatable obstacle course, flower clown, pedal tractor maze and more. And yes, tell the kids that “more” DOES include face painting!

Grab your tickets here for two days of stinky fun.
