Painter Tricia Kaman Showcases Her Signature Style at Ashtabula Art Center

Wed 8/7-Fri 8/30

Fri 8/9 @ 6-8PM

One of Cleveland’s best-known and widely exhibited artists, Tricia Kaman is an anchor in the Little Italy arts community with a studio in the Murray Hill School whose doors are always open for visitors during the Little Italy Art Walks. (She’s also a masterful promoter: For many years she was almost the only person promoting the art walks, although their profile has increased recently.)

She’s best known for her delicate, intimate portraits, especially of women, but her skills and interests encompass still lifes and landscapes. All of them will be on view at the Ashtabula Arts Center in a solo show called Painting From Life| A Retrospective.

“The collection is a result of Tricia turning her artist’s gaze upon her own body of work, finding the connecting threads and quiet origins of techniques that would become her signature style,” the show’s press release says, and indeed, whatever the subject, she applies her own, recognizable style of painting.

The show opens with a meet-the-artist reception on Friday August 9 and will be on view through Friday August 30. On Saturday August 18, she’ll be holding a masterclass called “Painting from Life.” Get more information and register here.
