Learn to Plant an Herb Garden at the Parma Powers Library

Mint is the best! it’s also easy to grow. TOO easy!

Tue 8/27 @ 6:30-8PM

You may think you have a brown thumb and that everything you grow dies, but that’s probably not true. I’ve had friends who thought this because, with no gardening experience, they chose to try some of the most care-intensive plants available. Don’t do that: grow herbs! Not only are most herbs hardy, low maintenance and long-lasting, but they’re a great enhancement in your kitchen, spicing up foods and cutting the need for salt. And many have health benefits as well.

Learn how to get started from herbalist Angelina Sheetz when she presents a program at the Cuyahoga County Public Library’s Parma Powers branch. And while herbs are typically planted in the very early spring since all except basil are frost-hardy, there are some you can plant right now and even keep in the house for a mini kitchen garden all winter. Ask her which ones!
