If you have a paddleboard or kayak and want to hang out with or compete against other water sports enthusiasts, sign up for the 10th annual Whiskey Island Paddlefest, designed for paddleboarders and kayaks of all ages and skill levels.
There are two-mile, six-mile, youth and kids’ stand-up paddleboard or kayak races, or you can paddle at a pace that’s comfortable for you and just enjoy the camaraderie and the joy of being out on the water in the Capture the Swag Fun Paddle option. There’ll be vendors and exhibitors from local organizations there as well, and a lunch option is available as part of your entry fee. Registration starts at 7:30am and the first racers set off at 8:15. There’s an awards ceremony at 11:15, and free “try-it” instruction, demos, a rescue rodeo and other water activities from noon-1pm.
