Cleveland Orchestra Brings 19th Century Music and Contemporary Piece to Blossom

Víkingur Ólafsson

Sat 8/17 @ 7PM

Like most summer events, the Cleveland Orchestra’s season at Blossom Music Center is winding down, with just a few more concerts at their summer home.

This week music director Franz Welser-Möst will be back at Blossom to lead the orchestra in a concert that culminates with Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s 1888 Symphony No. 5. And they’ll be joined by rising Icelandic pianist Víkingur Ólafsson  for Robert Schumann’s 1845 Piano Concerto. The program’s opening piece will showcase the work of the orchestra’s current Daniel R. Lewis Composer Fellow, flutist Allison Loggins-Hull. Can You See? Reimagines and reworks The Star Spangled Banner.
