The Cleveland Blues Society has done great work for many years, promoting Northeast Ohio’s large, active community of blues musicians.
Many of those musicians, including many big names in the local scene, will be on board when this year’s Blues Society Blues Cruise, held since 2013, sets sail from the Goodtime III’s boat dock. They’ll be jamming onstage playing many of their (and your) favorite blues standards, displaying the chops they’ve honed over the years in area clubs. Food and drink will be available for purchase onboard. It’s a rain-or-shine event.
The event is the major fundraiser of the group’s scholarship and educational fund to help seed the future of blues by helping graduating high school music students who are interested in the genre.
