78th Street Third Friday has rolled around again and as always, there’s a ton of things to see throughout the building’s four stories packed with galleries, artist studios and small businesses.
There are always highlights galore. You’ll want to stop at HEDGE Gallery to check out Nikki Woods’ Conjuring Images, with additional work by Katy Richards and Bianca Fields, before it closes (Before it does, Woods will be doing an artist talk at the gallery on Wednesday August 21 @ 5:30pm).
At Rachel Davis Fine Arts, you can see and purchase work by legendary Cleveland painter Phyllis Seltzer (1928-2023). Or stop in artist Eric Rippert’s studio to see work by his fellow artist, as well as writer and curator, Kristen Rogers or Gallery 202 where you can see painter Jill Milenski’s oil pastels of her travels in Europe. And Justin Brennan whose studio is on the top floor in the Context Gallery space is promising that he’ll have a bunch of new prints and paintings available for purchase. That’s just scratching the surface. There’s always more!
There will also be more than 50 artisans in the event spaces courtesy of Northcoast Productions, food for purchase from Local West, as well as food trucks outside the main entrance, drinks courtesy of BARneo, and music throughout the building including multi-instrumentalist Shelley Lazzaro who’s influence by sounds from around the globe, singer/songwriter Michael McDonalds, and DJ Sunset, as well as magic by Sergio.
Third Fridays are free and open to everyone, even well-behaved kids and dogs.
