10th Annual Bike Cleveland Fundo Attracts Cyclists from Across the Country

Sat 8/24 @ 8AM

“We have riders coming to Cleveland from California, Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, New York — and even Pittsburgh(!) to ride the Bike Cleveland Fundo!” exults Cleveland safe streets advocacy group Bike Cleveland, as the day of their 10th annual Bike Cleveland Fundo rapidly approaches.

This annual event gives cyclists the opportunity to enjoy the scenery of northeast Ohio on roads and rails with well-marked courses of 10, 30 and 50 miles, giving cyclists of all ages and all degrees of experience and skills the opportunity to participate at their own comfort level. (I’m guessing you don’t come from California to ride just 10 miles though!)

The ride includes rest stops and support vehicles to make sure riders have food and water and that any bike issues are taken care of. And at the end of the ride, you can enjoy a pre-purchased box lunch or  buy food from a food truck at the beginning and ending location, the Cleveland Metroparks Beach House at Edgewater Park.

The Fundo is not only a day of camaraderie for cyclists, it’s also a major fundraiser for Bike Cleveland: the proceeds go to furthering its work in making streets friendlier and safer, not just for cyclists but pedestrians as well. To register go here.
