You Are Here: Poetry in Parks Project Comes to Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Fri 7/12 @ 6-7PM

U.S. Poet Laureate Ada Limón is visiting Cuyahoga Valley National Park on a tour to unveil a series of public art installations. The You Are Here: Poetry in Parks is a partnership between the National Park Service, Library of Congress and the Poetry Society of America.

Seven national parks have been selected to feature unique poetry installations. Public picnic tables will serve as Limón’s canvas, each will be transformed with a historic American poem that is specific to the location.

Limón stated her aim was, “to deepen our connection to nature through poetry,” stating that the overall message of the project is, “About rising to this moment with hope, the kind of hope that will echo outwards for years to come.”

The project encourages people to share their responses to the installation on social media, using the hashtag #YouAreHerePoetry.
