Vintage Ohio Is Back to Celebrate the State’s Wineries — and Much More

Fri 8/2-Sat 8/3

The Vintage Ohio Wine Festival, the event that celebrates Ohio’s vibrant wine-growing and wine-making sector, returns to Lake Metropark Farmpark in Kirtland for another weekend of good food, palate-tickling wines, three stages of live music, artisan vendors and cooking demonstrations, all taking place in the fresh air of a bucolic rural setting.

There’ll be plenty of tents and picnic tables to enjoy wines of all types from 16 wineries and four cideries, as well as nine more wineries in the VIP Gold Media Experience. (VIP tickets must be purchased in advance, although sampler tickets will be sold at the gate.) Casual food choices, ranging from pizza, gyros and pierogis, to hot dogs, hamburgers and taco bowls, as well as treats like ice cream and donuts, will be vended by nearly a dozen food providers. And there’ll be exhibits to browse by organizations such as tourism groups and — uh oh — the Geauga Humane Society’s Rescue Village. If they bring adoptable animals, some people may come home with more than a crafted cutting board or a piece of handmade jewelry from the vendor village
