Taste of Tremont is back, celebrating food in one of the city’s foodiest areas. It’s a massive street party with tons of food — and tons of people surging down Professor Avenue.
That may be your thing — many people love busy, buzzier events — but if you like something a little more manageable as well as better bathroom access, local hospitality group Buildings and Food is offering what they call “a party within a party,” the Food Bank Block Party, with food, drink, music and bathrooms on Jefferson between West 7th and Thurman, a bit off Professor. Guests will be able to come and go between the Block Party and the main event. Taste of Tremont is free; the Block Party has an all-inclusive ticket. Get them here. https://www.foodbankblockparty.com
In addition to food and drink from businesses such as the Spotted Owl, La Cave Du Vin and Prosperity Social Club, guests at this party will get to hear a rare performance from Akron’s Wesley Bright & The Honeytones, featuring singer Wesley Bright who lit up area stages with his neo-soul until he retired from music to focus on his honey business, and the Admirables, a mostly instrumental soul/funk band, also from Akron.
