Treasured Cleveland Songwriter Alex Bevan Performs a Free Concert with Band at Cain Park

Tue 7/30 @ 7PM

Although some like to focus on hot up-and-comers with “who’s next”-type features, this region also has some veterans who are still a the top of their game, and shouldn’t be missed.

One of them is singer/songwriter/guitarist Alex Bevan, who has been performing since the late ’60s and released his first album No Truth to Sell in 1971. Since then, he’s produced a constant stream of music, most of it released on his own label. As a musician, he’s still at the top of his game, his voice as strong and clear as ever, and his intricate guitar playing making him one of the best players in the area, a skill too often overlooked. And he fires off new tunes seemingly every week, never running out of inspiration, so his shows always include old favorites and fresh songs.

This week he’ll be performing at Cain Park’s Alma Theatre, a lovely, intimate seating for his lovely, intimate music, part of Musicians Union Local 4’s free concert series. It’s being promoted as Alex Bevan & friends, which given his vast network of musical compadres, is likely to include some other stellar talents as well.

And like we said, it’s free! No ticket or reservation required — just come.
