Sun 7/21 @ 7:30-9PM
A new outdoor music series this summer is Symphony at Sunset, featuring different mixes of area classical musicians and small ensembles, organized by Opus 216, a loose and flexible group of some of the area’s top freelance musicians founded to perform in non-traditional spaces and stretch the boundaries of classical music.
A majority of the concerts at taking place at Superior Hill Park at 1007 W. Superior Avenue on the edge of the Flats. Dates there include July 21, August 4, 11 and 18, while the July 28 and August 25 concerts are in the Worthington Yards Courtyard in the Warehouse District.
On July 21, bassist Steve Bruja will lead an ensemble of upright bass, cello, violin and/or viola in a performance called String Bass + Friends. All performances start at 7:30 and are free and open to all. There will be a food truck onsite and you’re free to bring your own picnic as well.
