Rising Cleveland Band LoConti Headlines Rock Hall’s Live & Local Series

Thu 7/18 @ 8PM

The Rock Hall’s free Local & Live series continues this weekend with one of the hottest, rising young bands on the scene, LoConti.

The name will be familiar to older rock fans, who recall Henry LoConti (1929-2014) and the founder of, and visionary behind, the influential Agora Ballroom, an early stop for many superstars including U2, Bob Seger, Boston, Pat Benatar and Peter Frampton.

It’s not a coincidence that the band’s guitarist/vocalist/songwriter is also named Henry LoConti; he’s the Agora founder’s grandson. He and his brother, drummer Michael LoConti, lent the band their name. Together with vocalist Erin Donovan, guitarist Trevor Carmichael, sax player Eric Sconyers, bassist Tylor Pirc and keyboard player Jonah Benchek, they create a powerful anthemic sound that’s heavily based in the classic rock era, molded by modern rock tropes to create a something that’s both contemporary and timeless. They’re a band that all ages can enjoy, which may account for their growing popularity.

They’ll be joined on the Rock Hall’s by Cleveland’s Slag Genie, described as a “psychedelic revival” band. The show is free and open to all and it sounds like a bill that could unite different generations of music fans.
