We made our annual mid-week trip to Put-in-Bay on South Bass Island recently, avoiding the weekend party animals. Of course, we stopped at the Butterfly House and the Chocolate Museum, two of our favorite places on the island. We visited the East Point Nature Preserve and checked out the shoreline restoration work going on there, walked around the lighthouse and South Bass Island State Park, had a great lunch at The Forge and indulged in a late-afternoon treat at Dairy Isle before grabbing the Miller Ferry for a sunset trip back to the mainland.
