06.30.24 LoveMuffin 30th Anniversary

Sun 6/30

Love Muffin Records was founded in 1974 by Cleveland musician Adam Rich while he was a student at Bowling Green State University. In 30 years, he’s released many albums and sponsored his annual LoveMuffinPaloooza benefit concerts to raise money for cancer support group the Gathering Place (This year’s is August 11 at the BOP STOP).

Eight bands with some affiliation to the label performed including Adam’s own band Flowers Love Being Kurt, singer/songwriters Ray Flanagan and Mallory San Marco, pop rockers Saints, the aggressively heavy SweetSour, an old/new trio Spirit of 74, featuring Adam and two friends, and two bands featuring veterans of the local music scene techno/industrial and State of Being who are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their first release and reggae-groovin’ Shake Ground, most of whose members played in local reggae juggernaut First Light in the 80s and 90s.
