Fairport Harbor’s Reggae at the Harbor Is a Long Day of Island Vibes by the Beach

Mighty Mystic

Sat 7/13 @ 1pm

There’s something about reggae music that just sounds better in an outdoor setting when the weather’s warm; it’s music with a lazy, tropical vibe. So once again, Fairport Harbor’s fourth annual Live @ the Lighthouse series is hosting a day and evening titled “Reggae at the Harbor,” taking place right alongside the town’s beach at the Fairport Harbor Lighthouse Amphitheater. How could the vibes be any better?

Music starts at 1pm with Akron “reggae earth defenders” 12 O’Clock Tribe, followed by reggae rockers Lake Irie at 2:30pm. They’re followed by Cincinnati’s Rockstead from 4-5pm, another band that rocks up their reggae-driven sound. From 5:30-7:30, Cleveland’s wildly popular reggae veterans Carlos Jones and the P.L.U.S. Band will bring their positive vibrations and pervasive sense of joy to the stage as the sun starts its descent, and Jamaica-born, Boston-raised roots reggae artist Mighty Mystic will play the sun to sleep from 8-10pm.  Akron funk/reggae band  Land of Panda will provide some between-set music before and after the P.L.U.S. Band.

There’ll be seven food trucks onsite to keep concertgoers fueled throughout the day. In addition, local eateries as well as small shops are a comfortable stroll from the park. Admission is free.
