Sat 8/3 @ 5-6PM

Here’s one childless cat lady who is really invested in making sure we don’t destroy the environment for future generations, no matter what JD Vance says. That’s why we find Randy Cunningham’s new book Where We Live: Environmental Activists Fight to Save Their Communities, a more important read that Hillbilly Elegy.

In it, Cunningham explores the work of these activists, with each chapter focusing on a different story and issue and ultimately making connections between them. Their work can offer a blueprint, as well as inspiration, for aspiring climate justice warriors.

Cunningham’s own activist roots are deep going back to the Vietnam War protests. He is also retired from working in nonprofit housing sector in Cleveland. His previous book is Democratizing Cleveland: The Rise and Fall of Community Organizing in Cleveland, OH 1975-1985.

He’ll be talking about his latest book and the climate activists he spotlights at Mac’s Back in Cleveland Heights’ CoventryVillage. It’s free and open to all.
