As usual, Pride in the CLE, taking place this year on Malls B and C downtown, was a kaleidoscope of color, style, shapes and looks as a riotous mix of individuals (and their dogs) celebrated the right to be who you are, even if certain state legislators disagree.
Following the morning parade, people pouring into the Malls where there was a wide selection of foods and beverages, booths hawking wares from local entrepreneurs and many tables from area organizations offering information and advice on everything from health care to pet insurance to — most important — voting. There was also plenty of grass to spread a blanket and hang out with friends.
And yes, there were performers. The ubiquitous D+DJ Red-I kept things going during down moments, and energetic artists such as Apostle Jones, Girl Cologne and headliner Siena Liggens kept things lively, as did the burlesque and drag performers, who entertained between acts such as Cleveland Burlesque Queen Bella Sin, feather fan adept Rose Faluda and drag king Jace Blaze, doing a blazing Prince impersonation.
