Ohio Contemporary Ballet’s Cain Park Performance Is Free This Year

Sat 6/29 @ 8PM

Cleveland-based Ohio Contemporary Ballet — the former Verb Ballets under a more generic name — opens its summer performance season with its annual return to Cain Park’s Evans Amphitheater in Cleveland Heights.

The program will be a sampler of the company’s versatility offering what they describe as “an eclectic mix featuring 21st-century choreographers alongside beautifully restaged classics.” Among the pieces will be Schubert Waltzes, choreographed by the late Heinz Poll of Ohio Ballet, with live accompaniment by pianist Byeol Kim, who placed third in the 2021 edition of the prestigious Cleveland International Piano Competition.

Best of all, the performance is free, thanks to a gift from a quartet of their board members. No tickets are required, although registration is encouraged. Gates open at 7pm; seating is general admission.
