Rescue Village in Geauga County, founded in 1974, has long been known for its advocacy for animals. Its beautiful facility in semi-rural Novelty has wooded dog runs, an open room for cats and a barn for domesticated farm animals. From hamsters to horses, it’s taken in, cared for and adopted out animals of all types (although of course cats and dogs make up a bulk of their population.)

It has several signature benefits with its annual high-end Tails at Twilight Gala coming up this week at the Chagrin Valley Hunt Club. It opens with cocktails on the patio, followed by dinner and a program with a welcome from Executive Directive Kenneth Clarke. This year’s keynote speaker is well known to area dog lovers. He’s Cleveland-based pet photographer Greg Murray, known for his books such as Peanut Butter Dogs, Gotcha Day and Pitbull Heroes, and his annual dog and cat wall calendars.

There will be adoptable animals onsite to pet (or adopt) as well. Get tickets here.
