Cleveland History Center Unveils African-American Art Wall

Sat 6/8 @ 2-4PM

The Cleveland History Center at the Western Reserve Historical Society celebrates many of the diverse groups that contributed to Northeast Ohio’s history and culture with collections devoted to Cleveland’s Italian Americans, the Jewish local community, and African-Americans in Cleveland, among others.

And this week it will be unveiling a mural along the African American Art/History Walk near the corner of East 108th Street and East Boulevard, directly following the Parade the Circle event. The mural was created by Cleveland-based artist Jerome T. White, also an educator who teaches at Cleveland Heights/University Heights High School. It depicts, among others, prominent Cleveland pianist/educator/composer/music minister Dr. H. Leslie Adams Jr, who died May 24 at the age of 91. The J.T. Lynch Ensemble will perform live jazz for the event.
