Cain Park Hosts Free Concert By Cleveland’s Opus 216

Tue 6/25 @ 7PM

While the cost of tickets to see most touring musicians — even those playing in smaller venues— is quickly skyrocketing out of reach of most people, Cleveland offers a range of opportunities to hear local performers, who are often as good as or better than the visitors, for free, especially in the summer.

Once again, the Cleveland Federation of Musicians, Local 4, is hosting a series of Tuesday night free concerts at Cain Park’s Alma Theater. (It’s indoors so don’t worry about the weather). This week’s offering is a performance by Opus 216, a variable ensemble featuring some of the area’s best classical musicians. It was founded by violinist Ariel Clayton Karas in 2011 to give that large community of talented players the opportunity to perform with different people in non-traditional venues and to try some stylistic experiments outside of traditional classical music.

No reservations needed; just stop by.
