Bonfoey Gallery Shows Work of Cleveland Printmaker Marvin Jones

Fri 6/21 @ 5PM

Artist Marvin Jones was a professor of art at Cleveland State University for nearly three decades, teaching printmaking, his main medium. But his practice encompassed painting, drawing and sculpture, as well as printmaking. He exhibited extensively during his life, with more than 500 groups exhibitions and 75 solo shows, of work inspired by the California Funk movement characterized by skewed, offbeat images with a pop sensibility and a sense of humor. Jones was also a passionate art collector, especially of outsider and folk art, which he used as a source of inspiration.

Bonfoey Gallery will be debuting a solo show of his work, called Innovation, Artistry and Curiosity, this week. It will be on view through mid-July,
