Tremont Greek Fest Is Back with Food, Drink, Music, Dancing and More

Fri 5/23-Sun 5/26 @ noon-midnight

Mon 5/27 @ noon-8PM

The cross-topped domes of Tremont’s Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church are visible from the adjoining freeway, beckoning travelers to exit the ramp and luring them to one of the area’s most beloved festivals: the annual Tremont Greek Fest. It’s one of several big Memorial Day festivals that mark the onset of summer and the first ethnic church festival of Cleveland’s summer season (and one of several Greek fests).

As always at such festivals, the big attraction is the food: choose from a dizzying array of national specialties lovingly hand prepared by parishioners. Of course, there’s drink to go along with it (go easy on the ouzo! It’s potent), and Greek music and dancing to take in once you’ve found a seat. There’s also a marketplace where you can shop for imported Greek items and, although it’s not specifically mentioned, we’re betting there are also church tours because they’re a staple at such festivals and the churches love to show off their spectacular interiors and share information about religious beliefs and practice.

Admission is free so you can spend your money of spanikopita, moussaka, souvlaki and baklava.
