The Maltz Museum in Beachwood has announced the appointment of its new executive director to succeed David Schafer who announced his retirement in February, after 15 years leading the museum, which shortened its name from the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage in 2022. Aaron Petersal will assume the job on June 1 with Schafer remaining available to ease the transition.
Petersal has previously worked at several museums, including the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Clark Art Institute, and the Cleveland Museum of Art. His most recent post was as Chief Development Officer/Vice President of Resource Development at the United Way of Greater Cleveland.
