On summer weekend afternoons on Cleveland’s east side, the place to be is Cavotta’s Garden Center, a sprawling property with greenhouses, plant retail tents, chickens, cats, goats (penned so they won’t chase your kids), a picnic lawn and a covered pavilion with a stage. They also have a full-service bar and a light menu served on Friday-Sundays May through October when some of the area’s best bands take over that stage.
The music starts this weekend with the bluesy rockin’ Kingpins on Friday from 4-8pm, Americana/alt country quartet Rachel Brown & the Beatnik Cowboys on Saturday from 3-6pm, and the Surfside Band on Sunday (Mother’s Day!) from 3-6pm. Come early, pick up your vegetable starters, herbs, perennials, hanging baskets and more, and then kick back with a cocktail and a bite. It’s 21+ during bar hours; no pets are allowed — they have plenty of their own! Admission is free.
