Talespinner Children’s Theatre was founded by actress/director/costumer/puppetmaker Alison Garrigan in 2011 to fill the hole for a professional children’s theater in Cleveland, offering multi-disciplinary, interactive productions that stretched kids’ minds and introduced them to an array of different cultures.
While Garrigan stepped down in 2019, others have soldiered on and Talespinner is now the longest-running professional children’s theater in Cleveland’s history. While it currently doesn’t have a performance space — it has offices and classrooms in 78th Street Studios — it creates productions to take on the road into a variety of spaces.
It’s a mission worth supporting and you can do so at Our Next Act — A Benefit for Talespinner Children’s Theatre, a re-imagining of its annual benefit. Taking place at Great Lakes Brewery’s Tasting Room, it’ll include performances by Crooked River Circus and “kid-phenom” band Stakhouse. It will also honor noted local playwright Eric Coble and former board chair, actor Liz Conway.
Tickets include appetizers, two drink tickets, valet parking and a silent auction. Get them here.
