As everyone in her wide social circle knows, Cleveland Burlesque Queen and founder/promoter of the August Ohio Burlesque Fest Bella Sin was chosen by her peers to be one of ten burlesque performers from across the country to take part in the annual Miss Viva Las Vegas burlesque competition that’s part of the annual Viva Las Vegas rockabilly festival which took place this past weekend, April 18-21.
We’re thrilled to report that in this tough contest featuring some of the nation’s most dazzling performers, Bella was named second runner up aka “Duchess,” joining the “court” with Queen Kate La Dame Derriere and Princess GiGi Holliday. She dedicated the performance to her family, her beloved mother Mona Ruiz who passed away in October 2021, her Mexican culture, and to Marinka Melanie Hunter, Cuban transgender burlesque legend from Las Vegas dubbed “Queen of the Amazons.”
Congratulations to Bella, who has used their talents to create a thriving burlesque scene in northeast Ohio under the name Cleveland Burlesque over the last 20 years. Its next performance is at the Beachland Ballroom when it presents its annual Star Wars Burlesque, this edition dubbed “May 4th Be With You.” Yes, Bella will be performing. If you haven’t seen a show presented by Cleveland Burlesque, featuring national headliners and local performers with national-level skills, you need to go. Get tickets here.
