The Bainbridge monthly swing dance is back if you’re ready to let spring put a spring in your step. These all-ages, family-friendly events are designed to appeal to both experienced dancers and complete novices, so everyone should feel welcome.
The evening always kicks off at 8pm with a lesson so that beginners can learn all the basic steps and long-timers can pick up something new and help out the beginners — it’s that friendly sort of event. And once you hit the dance floor at 9pm, don’t worry if you came alone. Partners constantly change so you’ll get to meet and dance with a variety of people. And one of the special attractions is you’ll be dancing to live music by some of the area’s best musicians. This month it’s vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Bob Frank who spent several decades activating dance floors with swing/blues/jump/R&B band Blue Lunch. He’ll be gathering some friends from the huge network of musicians he’s acquired over the years to play some lively, blues-based tunes for dancing.
So come alone, bring a partner or friend, bring the kids and dance the night away. Go here for more information.
