See What Spring Is Bringing to the Mentor Marsh in Family-Friendly Hike

Sat 3/9 @ 8AM

Spring is coming, perhaps a little too soon, but plant and animals are springing to life in protected habitats such as the Mentor Marsh State Nature Preserve.

And this weekend, a Cleveland Museum of Nature History naturalist will lead a tour of the marsh’s western end, a tangle of wilderness with spectacular views. The naturalist will help hikers find and identify wildlife, birds and plants in the marsh and adjoining upland forest and answer questions about the ecosystem there.

Join the group at the utility access road gate at the end of Woodridge Lane and Forest Road in Mentor Headlands. Wear sturdy waterproof shoes (this time of year is muddy!) and warm clothes, and be sure to bring your binoculars, camera or anything else you think might make the trek more rewarding for you. The walk is not difficult and program is family-friendly. And you can just show up; no reservations are needed. Go here for more information.
