Thu 4/4 @ 6PM
As you may have heard (unless you’ve been living under a rock), Cleveland being in the path of totality of the April 8 solar eclipse is a really big deal. Really REALLY big deal. So a lot of area organizations and institutions are hosting pre-eclipse events to get people psyched up.
That includes the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, of course, whose monthly adult part, Think & Drink with the Extinct, falls on the Thursday prior to the eclipse. So guess what this month’s theme is? Ha!
There’ll be a lot of educational activities with museum staff, many of them eclipse-related. For instance, there’ll be classroom discussions with museum naturalists about the effect of the eclipse on the environment and eclipse-themed trivia in Murch Auditorium. And every attendee will get a pair of approved glasses for safe viewing of the eclipse on Monday.
No interest in the eclipse? There’ll be planetarium shows, Giant Jenga and Connect 4 in the Visitor Hall, a silent disco, appearances by costumed Star Wars characters (Wait – this is an adult event?) and best of all, the Perkins Wildlife Center will be open until dusk so you can watch otters at play.
Grab tickets here – they’re likely to be in demand!
