Thu 3/14 @ 7PM
It’s that time of year. You can’t turn around without running into an Irish band or a program on Irish culture or a plate of corned beef.
The Music Box Super Club is obliging the season with a Night of Classic Irish Tales, featuring three Irish Clevelanders, part of its Cleveland Stories series. Singer/storyteller Patrick Custy, a sales engineer for Zoom, was born on a farm in County Clare. Journalist/photographer Tommy Mulloy is the son of Irish immigrants and grew up soaking up the culture at the West Side Irish-American Club. And professional musician Martin Ryan, currently working on his PhD in music education at Kent State University, is from Limerick, Ireland. So expect storytelling enhanced by music at this program.
As usual, there’s a three-course fixed price menu (in addition to the club’s regular menu), and of course it features corned beer, along with Guinness stew and Irish apple cake. There’s no admission charge but if you want to eat you should make a reservation. Doors open at 5pm; program starts at 7.
