Right now, anyone who grows a garden is likely deep into making plans and preparing for the growing season. That includes taking stock of their tools and making sure they’re ready to go. That’s why it’s the perfect time for the Geauga Park District’s “Bring in Your Garden Tools,” taking place at its West Woods Nature Center.
Naturalist and lifelong gardener Chris Mentrek will not only be hosting an informational session about caring for your tools, but he and other district naturalists will also help you clean and sharpen any tools you brought in for maintenance. They can also arrange for you to drop off and pick up tools at a later date for bigger repairs such as replacing a broken handle or missing spring.
“We’ll share some advice on how to clean and sharpen your shears, shovels, clippers and more, plus give you a chance to spruce up your gardening gear with our oil, steel wool and sharpening files — you just supply the elbow grease!” says Mentrek.
It’s free and no registration is required.
