It’d been in the air since the pandemic: lots of people who never really thought about growing things suddenly got into gardening. And the trend seems to be continuing as more people are educated about what they can do to contribute in a small way to a healthy ecosystem.
Part of the Cleveland Botanical Garden’s mission is to encourage that thinking, and this week, they’ll be hosting another of their educational programs called “Backyard Garden Stewardship for Beginners.” Conservation educator Danae Wolfe will cover all the basics about growing a healthy environmentally friendly garden, covering topics such as conservation, pollination, decomposition, reducing light pollution, integrated pest management, and the role of insects and spiders in maintaining that healthy ecosystem.
“Our conversation will be centered around six simple conservation practices that you can get started with right away,” they say. Once you leave, you’ll undoubtedly be chomping at the bit for gardening weather to arrive so you can get started.
