Beachland Hosts Benefit for Family of Beloved Local Rocker Lachlan MacKinnon

Thu 3/28 @ 8PM

Lachlan MacKinnon was a well-known and beloved member of the Cleveland music community, having done time in groups such as Chargers Street Gang and Collinwood Soul Group and made many friends with his outgoing, exuberant personality. This was also the author of a memoir titled Let Me Tell You a Story, talking about his own life, its joys and challenges.

Sadly, he took his own life on February 1 at the age of 47, leaving behind family and a legion of friends to grieve. Those friends will be hosting a benefit performance for his family at the Beachland Ballroom and Tavern his week. Featured bands include one of Cleveland’s most adventurous bands, Mourning [A] BLKStar, which blends jazz, R&B, hip hop electronic music and spoken word to create what it describes as “a multi-generational, gender and genre non-conforming amalgam of Black Culture dedicated to servicing the stories and songs of the apocalyptic diaspora,” along with the lively Latin percussion-driven “hot weather music” of Hello! 3D. Wrong Places, Whatever and OONGOW! Will also perform.

There’s a $20 suggested donation.
