Wed 3/20 @ 6:30PM
It’s been much noted in recent years that most scientific and medical research has been done primarily on the male body, and that notice is given rise to change.
Dr. Cat Bohannon is a Seattle-based researcher and author who focuses on interpreting scientific ideas for non-scientists, She’s the author of the 2023 book, Eve: How the Female Body Drove 200 Million Years of Human Evolution, described as “the real origin of our species … a myth-busting, eye-opening landmark account of how humans evolved, offering a paradigm shift in our thinking about what the female body is, how it came to be, and how this evolution still shapes all our lives today.
Dr. Bohannon will be at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History to talk about the negative impacts to modern medicine, neurobiology, evolutionary biology, and feminism of focusing exclusively or mostly on the male body in research and why a more holistic approach to research is beneficial to everyone.
Doors open at 5:30 when drinks and food will be available for purchase, with the lecture at 6:30 and a book signing afterwards. Books will also be available for sale onsite. Get tickets here.
