As you can hardly help knowing, given the hype and glut of events being scheduled by cities, organizations, businesses, parks, museums and more, northeast Ohio will be in the direct path of a total solar eclipse on the afternoon of Monday April 8, when there’ll be nearly four minutes of total darkness. It’s even being marketed widely as a major tourist attraction!
Want to know more to prepare yourself for this event which hasn’t happened here since 1806? Come to the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes where astronomy educator Jay Ryan will share the science behind eclipses, the superstitions surrounding them, what you’ll see (or not see!) on April 8 and how to protect your eyes — remember those weird little glasses you wore during the 2017 eclipse?
The program is free but registration is required. Go here.
