The Akron Art Museum is bringing back its Midwinter Tunes event, which celebrates local creativity in art, dance, poetry and music, to chase away the gray-days doldrums.

It kicks off with Missingno, which plays “retro video game-like sounds with elements of today’s Pop and Hip-Hop/ R&B,” followed by poets Kevin Latimer and Risha Nicole performing their work in the museum’s RETOLD: African-American Art & Folklore exhibition. Jazz ensemble the Lemon Quartet performs instrumentals “straight from the cosmos”’ Cleveland’s Djapo! Culture Arts brings their high-energy African-influenced music and dance; PAL is described as “art, Egg punk rockers from Cleveland”; and Akron reggae band 12 O’Clock Tribe and spacey Cleveland electronic trio Anteater cap off the evening,

In addition, DJ Palaces will be spinning between sets in the lobby, and Bereka Coffee & Food have Ethiopian food and coffee available for purchase.
