Tufted Deer Calf Makes His Debut at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo

So while we’re waiting for the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo’s two baby Amur tigers to make their public debut in a couple of months, there is a baby there you can go see now. Douglas, a male tufted deer calf, was born November 20, 2023 and will now be out playing every day in Wilderness Trek.

The tufted deer is native to parts of Asia, and is listed as threatened. Its enemies are the usual: humans and habitat loss. Read more about them and see more photos at the zoo’s website here.
